OPEN THE CURTAINS

Nov 22, 2021

We all have a day or two sometimes which seem dark and dreary. Sitting in a lit-up room or out in the sun sure can help our inner-selves.

Leaving home in the morning, it is dark outside. The sun may try to shine in the distance but it’s not quite there yet. I see other lights on the road, I just don't know their story. Some may be travelling to a job they like, and others may be traveling to one they don’t. Maybe some are out for pleasure and others may have had a tragedy. We just don’t know what is going on with the one other person you see out there.

Then there is the dark room you come to after driving in the dark. It isn’t only gloomy for just a short time, but for quite a while during the day. Nobody to talk to, just the quietness of others breathing and relaxing. This is where I lose myself in the time I am giving a massage. I think of all the things I need to do, things that have happened, and more often than not, just not happy thoughts.

When all of a sudden I realize the attack of satan playing upon my feelings-- leaving home in the dark, spending hours in the dark, going home in the dark. Never seeing the light of day…

But then I see God as my ray of sunshine. He is the light that helps me through the day. He opened a curtain for us, a new way through his own body.

Look to God, and not around at the darkness.

Look through the gloom to the sunshine behind the clouds!
